Renault and Red Bull celebrate a third F1 constructor's title with special edition Renaultsport Megane RB8
Renault and Red Bull Racing have celebrated their win in last season’s Formula 1 world title with the special edition Renaultsport Megane RB8 – limited to just 30 units in the UK. (Click to Tweet)
The Red Bull Racing Megane is finished in Twilight Blue, a colour inspired by the Formula One car, while the door handles, spoiler, wing mirrors and F1-inspired splitter in the front bumper are all finished in Platinum Grey. Red Bull Racing logos adorn the sides and the rear.
Inside, the carpet mats, kickplates and headrests are branded with Red Bull Racing logos, while the R-Link system – never before available on the Renaultsport Megane – can be fitted. The infotainment system takes car of sat-nav, Bluetooth, music and apps.
There’s a new Renaultsport Monitor, too, which is supposedly more user friendly and allows users to save data on a USB dongle. In the RB8, it also features a Red Bull Racing home page.
There are no mechanical changes, so the RB8 boasts the same 261bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, Brembo brakes and limited slip differential as the standard car.
The Renaultsport Megane Red Bull Racing RB8 is available until 30 September but Renault hasn’t yet revealed how much it will cost. It will almost certainly be more than the standard car’s £25,255 price-tag, though.
